John’s first project, written at both ends of the Ho Chi Minh Trail
John lived in Vietnam and Cambodia for almost three years, playing music along the way in venues from beach festivals to spa parlours in the mountains of Sapa on the border of China. John met some amazing musicians whilst there and cherry picked some songs, melodies and performance tibbles that he later added to his live shows. While living in Cambodia, John met an Irish singer called ‘Ray’ from Dublin and they played together, sometimes for their dinner, for over 3 years. While living in Hanoi, they recorded their first album ‘Sleep Talk’ which was later mastered and released in Dublin downstairs in Peadar Kearney’s on Dame street. Click the image to listen.

First solo album and it’s been good to him.
John lived in Germany for two years while studying his bachelors degree and while there, he met a guy called ‘Guy’. Guy is a music producer and talented musician from Haifa, northern Israel and was studying at the same university as John, in Rhein-Waal, Kleve. While hosting an event for University Music, of which John managed at the time, Guy took part and asked John if he’d like to record a song some time…and the offer was taken. After this the duo spent 4 months recording, re-recording, drinking guinness and re-recording. When it all finally came together, with the help of the university choir, John’s first solo album was released in Museum Kurhaus in December 2019. Click the image below to listen.
